004# Let's take a trip to turks and Caicos
Hi all I hope you’re well
In our last newsletter post we shared a few gems on how to book a cheap holiday to the Maldives, making a bucket list holiday a realistic one. This week we’d like to take a trip to Turks and Caicos.
The Turks and Caicos Islands lie southeast of Mayaguana in the Bahamas island chain, northeast of Cuba, and north of the island of Hispaniloa (Haiti and the Dominican Republic ). Turks and Caicos is known for its incredible beaches. Turks and Caicos Islands has the perfect white, powder sand beaches with a hint of pink and it's a craze for snorkelers and scuba enthusiasts as it's an ultimate dive destination.
The best time to go to Turks and Caicos is between April to July as the prices are lower and there are fewer crowds, the weather isn’t an issue as it's pleasant year-round. December is considered to be the busiest month.
Things to know before Turks and Caicos
Turks and Caicos is an expensive country and they use the US dollar. It's best to bring the money with you from wherever you're traveling from to avoid transaction fees.
It's important to have cash as most taxis will want cash, so we would suggest having mostly everything in cash.
Mosquitoes are very popular so definitely get bug spray to avoid getting bitten all holiday. We would suggest getting it before you fly out as you could end up paying 4 times what you would normally pay.
Now in regards to transportation there is no Uber, Bolt or Lyft in Turks and Caicos so be aware when you arrive. There are local taxi services and a one way trip can average around £11 ($16), another suggestion is to take a bike most accommodations have them so just check with where you're staying.
Where to stay in Turks and Caicos
As previously mentioned Turks and Caicos is expensive so be prepared to come with heavy pockets. We have listed a few places below, we found some to be reasonably priced while most accommodations are considered to be expensive. We suggest getting a hotel as the holiday experience will be much better, but there are some great accommodation prices on airbnb as well so take a look there as well.

Things to do in Turks and Caicos
The Turks and Caico things to do list is quite pleasant. Look below to see the list.
Pirate Cave is located on the west side of the island and it includes sightseeing, swimming in shallow water and cliff jumping as well.
You can Kayak basically anywhere at Turks and Caicos from - lagoons and banks which are very popular.
Now not everyone wants to work out during a holiday but we would not consider cycling one, see it from a perspective of going through the island and sightseeing.
Now along a place called Long bay there is a shipwreck located in the middle of the ocean, but you can see it from the beach you can use jet skis to get there and climb on the ship to see what's inside.
Other water activities include, Saling, snorkeling, paddling, boating, day time and sunset cruises.
If you’re unsure about some of the places recommended or would like us to elaborate more, feel free to send me an email at passportmarkers@hotmail.com.
